Catalyst and Substrate Technologies

Substrates:

  • Ceramic honeycomb (cordierite): lowest cost, thermal shock resistant, 400-900 cpsi
  • Metallic honeycomb (FeCrAlloy): fast light-off, vibration resistant, 200-1,200 cpsi, preferred for motorcycles and hybrids
  • Wall-flow filter (SiC or cordierite): >99% PM/PN filtration for DPF and GPF

Washcoat formulations:

  • TWC (Pd/Rh + ceria-zirconia): three-way conversion for gasoline
  • DOC (Pt/Pd on alumina): CO/HC oxidation, NO→NO₂ for diesel
  • SCR (Cu-zeolite, Fe-zeolite, vanadia): NOx reduction with NH₃
  • ASC (Pt on alumina): NH₃ slip control <10 ppm
  • VOC (Pt/Pd on alumina or zeolite): hydrocarbon oxidation for industrial
